Mary Scherer (b. USA) is a Chicago-based media artist and filmmaker. She earned a Master of Fine Arts in Film, Video, and New Media from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a BFA in Film and Video at The University of Illinois at Chicago. Mary is the recipient the Prelude Award Poetry Scholarship, the CADA Arts Talent Tuition Award, and was nominated for The Princess Grace Award. Scherer's work has an inherent interest in conceptual and human interest based video and film works.

While earning her MFA, Mary has worked as the Distribution Assistant and the Interim Distribution Manager at the Video Data Bank, a video art distributor at The School of The Art Institute Chicago. For several years, she has produced and directed video content for various arts organizations in Chicago, including The Renaissance Society, Columbia College Chicago, and LAMPO. She is the founder of Konami Code Productions, whose name was coined by her first feature film “Sense of Place.” She is currently working as a D.I.T. and Production Assistant for Kartemquin Films in Chicago.
